My first point mandala
Mandala made in point tehnique with aclylics. I’ve discovered this tehnique during a workshop.
I’t almost like a meditative state of mind. A lesson about patience, creativity and the imperfection of perfect. A process that flow from inside to canvas with no pictures and templates as inspiration. Each point speaks about me, about the many long working hours that revealed in shapes and colors the sun within.
Size 40 x 40 cm
DIAS DE LOS MUERTOS
More than 2 years ago, Dias de los muertos, came alive. What scares us is the beautiful unknown, masked, but in the same time visible and fascinating. Now, the pigment started to transform itself, it turnes red. It’s like being alive, breaths, gets older and become infinit.
Infinite wonder.
Drawing in liner on canvas cardboard.
Size: 30 x 40 cm
Summertime Sadness
It was a summer project commissioned artwork. It was supposed to be something else. Just the writing on brick background and lightened on the back. More than 30 hours of work I’ve tried to make the perfect “really” bricks. But when I don’t feel the painting … I don’t feel it. Full of disappointment of myself I was one inch to throw away the painting. In the end I just left it on a corner of the balcony. Till one day when I’ve almost stepped on it. And I’ve felt it. The summertime sadness wasn’t supposed to be sad. It’s a happy painting that feels actually the summertime flowers. And like in a blink of an eye … here it is. My own summertime sadness that now is available for sale.
Dimension: L=100 cm, l= 50 cm. Acrylic paint and dried flowers covered with a protective coat.
The Blooming Tree
Everything happens for a reason, no? Even the fact that I did this painting a few months ago and I find it more beautiful now. It’s like human. With dark side and bright side. With roots and flowers. With ups and downs. But is a tree. What do we are? Acrylic painting on canvas. Mix media composition. Size 60 x 80 cm.
For Trollo Pub – The Drunk
And here it is my forth and my last painting in the Grolsch contest – Crafted for creative minds contest that went to Trollo Pub.
Not far away from the downtown, you can escape in an old house with garden for good live music or just for chill out. A Grolsch is always refreshing and different. It gets you to your system. You can be anybody. A shadow. Any man on this planet. But Grolsch canges you. Empowers you. Unconventional. Let it!
Acrylic painting and fluorescent painting on canvas with Grolsch shards. Size: 60 x 80cm.
For Lokal – Happy Life Mood
My third painting for Grolsch contest went to LOKAL.
Lokal is the place in the center of Bucharest, that once you enter the garden you forget where you are. Is a simple complicated world, where bohemian and fascinating simple, mix together to create a perfect relaxed moment.
In this simple fascinating word, I created a simple fascinating woman. In mystery and in beauty, in flowers and in shards, in the ocean behind her, in all the different things that we don’t expect to see, in what is not normal but in the same time is the normality itself. In attitude and in love we lose ourselves in the pure truth of our life. Maybe it’s me. Or maybe you. Or hope.
Acrylic painting on canvas, mixt media with Grolsch shards and caps and natural dried flowers.
For La Scena – The Asian Girl
The second painting in the Grolsch contest went to La Scena. La Scena is a pub, a bar, a restaurant and a theater all in one.
I was thinking at the Japanese masks as they symbolized the different roles in a play, like hero and villain. For this pub, I painted a beautiful Asian girl, and her expressiveness is beyond the face, is a much more universe going in her mind, exploding in powerful colors. Because as in theater and in real life, we don’t show all the beautiful emotions, and we just pretend the role that we assume to play. Her hair is rich in decoration accessories, including beer Grolsch caps, feather and one of my own brush.
Later edit: This is how it looks like my painting in the pub:
Scream
One day, somebody told me that woman are so hard to be understood. Because their brain is so …so .. complicated. It’s bzzz bzzz zbang drang …. And men’s mind is so simple and logical and analytic….Women? No, nobody understand them. It’s illogical and all the answers are: this is the way I feel. Sound familiar? Well, I think (not feel in this case 🙂 ) that whatever we do, men have a mind set difficult to understand us. And I fell like screaming, maybe in this way as louder and as more powerful to get through your logical and analytical mind. Marker and pencil on paper. Size: 30 x 43 cm.
Looking at the bright side
When we are down we feel like everything is pushing on us. Everything above us is dark, and the beautiful is running from our minds. Is like when you hit the earth after falling from the sky. Only that we stay on the bright side. We let the beautiful to come back to us.
Acrylic painting. Size (framed) 33 x 43 cm.
